The Emerald Isle-Waterford

For my husband, Ireland was the place he most wanted to go, so he was ecstatic when day four found us in Waterford Ireland. Waterford is famous for the crystal that bears its name, but sadly no longer made in Ireland, but in China (Naturally).

We had signed up for yet another ship sponsored shore excursion; The Ruins of Jerpoint Abby. I signed up for this because A) They had very little to choose from in the way of excursions B) The Abby sounded interesting, and C) It included a brief stop in a "Picturesque Irish Village, not on the normal tourist trail".

The Abby was impressive, or what remained. It was mostly destroyed on the orders of Henry VIII.
